I am first and foremost a storyteller—equal parts lies and truths, myths and histories—so I make objects that spark a sense of narrative in the viewer. By recreating specific objects, patterns, textures, I can use and tweak the original references the viewer makes to my own ends. Objects gain power by the associations made between the maker and the user, the object and the beholder, the seller and the buyer, myself and the viewer; I craft the story that the object shares with the viewer.

Amber Thieneman is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes collage, drawing, photography, music, storytelling, and art education. Amber has degree in Music Technology and enthusiastically explores connections between the performing and visual arts. She is profoundly inspired by nature and designs botanical jewelry under the name gritty pearl. Her current music project is Fool’s Ghost. Amber is the School Outreach Manager at the Speed Art Museum and co-creator of I SEE I THINK I MAKE – a free video series encouraging everyone to enjoy art and create their own.

Amy Finder views life and art through an interdisciplinary lens. She is a graduate of University of Louisville with a self-designed Liberal Studies program: Art and Creative Expression, comprising concentrations in Studio Art, Psychology, and Communication. Amy is an artist, graphic designer, creativity coach, movement trainer, and dance instructor. Inspired by natural forms, Amy’s work weaves together facets of her varied domains and interests. Working primarily in encaustic, she finds it a luminous, versatile and challenging medium which encourages experimentation. Amy takes particular joy in helping others re-discover and cultivate their creative selves.

Charisma Eclectic was founded in 2009 to offer a variety of decor, jewelry, and art to the masses. Charisma is a Mother, Graphic Designer, Media Artist and a previous on-air DJ. Many of her pieces have lyrical or spiritual names. She’s obsessed with design, fashion, and individuality and you’ll see that reflected in her work. As an Earth Lover, she uses recycled goods whenever possible. Charisma loves to remix vintage and modern materials . Not only is the collection very limited and exclusive, but most importantly, affordable.
Sheila Johnson

Sheila Johnson is a mixed-media artist who resides in Louisville, KY, originally from Chicago, IL. She has been drawing for well over twenty years, but painting for only five years. She signs her works under the artist name GodivaGoddess.
Her motivation is rooted simply by being a Black Woman in America. She focused most of her life attending to work and supporting her family, but has always known, at a soul-level, she was an artist. Her work is unique and will make a statement that you simply cannot miss. She specializes in capturing the timeless essence of black women; and tackles the beauty within history, race, power and repression.
She always wanted to attend an art school but was not financially able to. This enabled her to be her own teacher; training in a variety of mediums, paints, brushes and canvases. Those skills brought her artistic expressions to life.
In her words: “Full time Welder/Fabricator and proud mother of four beautiful, smart, loving children; two girls & two boys. Art is a true passion for me, reminding me of my children; it’s something I can’t live life without.”

My name is Kristie Berry and I am an extremely devoted self-taught artist from Louisville, KY. I started sketching and painting in high school and kept at it through the years. I love to express myself on canvas. My art allows me to utilize my imagination and the talents that God has blessed me to have.
I get inspired by the world and the everyday people in it. I see how people are so busy and trying to get by; I see the pain in people’s eyes while I’m riding the bus, and I’m moved to capture their faces on canvas. My favorite quote is from one of my biggest art influences, Vincent Van Gogh—“I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream.” I want to share my art, and my dreams, with others.
